Inca Pisco bottle collection
by rod ~ March 16th, 2010. Filed under: Bolivia, Chile, Peru, South America.I absolutely love these bottle. How cool. Pisco (from Quechua: pisqu, little bird) is a South American liquor distilled from grapes. Developed by Spanish settlers in the sixteenth century, it takes its name from the conical pottery in which it was originally aged, which was also the name of one of the sites where it was produced: Pisco, in the Viceroyalty of Peru. The first vineyards were planted in the coastal valleys in the Viceroyalty. The drink is a widely consumed spirit in the nations of Bolivia, Chile and Peru. I have one of these bottles. It looks like the fourth one down, with the “Huaco” label, only mine has a different label. It says, “Inca Pisco” on the top, then, “Bottled by Casa Ranuzzi, Lima, Peru, Exclusively for and imported by McKesson Liquor Co. New York, NY.” under it. I was wondering if this would be of any value to you or if you would like to buy it. It does look different than the ones above, though, because it’s not shiny. It’s sort of like, matted, or really smooth. But not shiny. I’m not sure how to explain it. I’m not quire sure how old it is either. I can send you a picture if you are interested. Let me know!

Oh, and I also have one like the seventh one down, with the big red “Pisco” label on it. Only the one I have, has the same label as I described above. This one is also not shiny. They are both empty by the way, there is nothing in them. It’s just the bottle. They are both in great condition too!
