G.O.D

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

This looks like an interesting shop located in Hong Kong to get some Chinese inspired goods.

G.O.D. is the phonetic sound of the Cantonese slang “to live better”, because to live better is a basic human desire in Hong Kong, Asia and the world. via jocundist

The HKTB logo incorporated one of Hong Kong‘s most well known symbols which is the Chinese Junk. The Hong Kong Tourism Board is a Government-subvented body, with the primary responsibilities to market and promote Hong Kong as a destination worldwide, as well as to take initiatives to enhance the experiences of its visitors once they have arrived. The HKTB’s mission is to maximise the social and economic contribution that tourism makes to the community of Hong Kong, and to consolidate Hong Kong‘s position as a unique, world class and most desired destination.

Branding Hong Kong

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Branding Hong Kong “The visual identity of BrandHK, which has taken on a more contemporary look, maintains the virtues of the original dragon logo – a mythical and powerful icon that links the city’s historic past with its energetic modernity. It also incorporates the letters “H” and “K”, the acronym for “Hong Kong“.

The blue and green ribbons that extend from the dragon symbolise blue sky and a sustainable environment, while Lion Rock – which represents the Hong Kong people’s “can-do” spirit – is silhouetted by the red ribbon. The fluid shape of the ribbons evokes versatility, and the multiple colours signify the city’s diversity and dynamism.” Check out the old logo design, personally I like the old one designed by Landor. via underconsideration.com
