One of the most impressive artistic cultures in our world are the Yoruba people who live on the west coast of Africa. If you want to know a little more about them have a look a this post. British design Ross Clarke was approached by the Festival of Yoruba Arts to create the visual identity for the festival. Their existing logo was a poorly scanned in wood mask which didn’t have much potential. Ross vectorised the mask and created a custom font that retained a slight wood cut feel. To wrap up this charity run festival he designed a pattern which is loosely based on Yoruba art but  with a contemporary feel to it. via africandigitalart

This is an old peice of information no longer relevant to the festival as the logo has now been properly designed by another Grapghic designer Colin Best another british graphic designer for the 2012 fetsival.

This post is giving the mis-representation that Ross Clarke designed the mask used as the logo. Unfortunately this is what you get when you use graphic artists, who still did not and oculd not portray the actual message of the festival and the design has nothing absolutely nothing to do with Yoruba or African Art. This is someones interpretation of African art which is bordering on being insultive. please check your facts for mis-information. http://www.foya.org.uk will show that this information is false!!!
