With over 115 granite and coral islands spread across the Indian Ocean the Seychelles are considered to be amongst the most beautiful islands in the world. In 2006 the archipelago unveiled it’s tourism brand which showcases the countries breathtaking beauty and diversity.

The brand features a colourful logo which looks exotic and represents the Seychelles flora and fauna. The Flora and fauna element above the name that also can be used as a graphical element throughout the brand identity seam to fall short of a deeper meaning in my opinion. If you would strip away the name the element could just as well represent the Maldives or any Pacific island nation.

The logo uses the the words “the seychelles islands” opposed to simply “Seychelles”. “Although ‘Seychelles’ is of course the official name of the country, we felt that using ‘the Seychelles islands’ in our new campaign would be a great educational tool for our audiences, to reflect the reality that we have over 100 different and diverse islands,” said Mr Lalanne.

It looks like the Seychelles is stepping up its tourism initiative. Alongside the fresh looking tourism identity, the country also launched the new brand identity for Air Seychelles in recent months. via soydg
