Posted by rod - 09.11.2011Nurturing Walls is a book and a piece of art by Gita Wolf and Madan Meena. The book itself is a work of art with each copy characterized by the brown craft-paper which has silk-screened Meena designs printed on. The designs are from the walls of the Meena tribes mud walls of their homes in Rajasthan, India. The theme of the designs mainly captures animals and their young. These paintings have been passed down from mother to daughter throughout centuries To create the paint the woman use a white paste made of rice and milk. More pictures about the art form can been seen in a previous posts about Meena Paintings. Get the book here.
