The first Arabic travel guide to the Netherlands – Shimal/Noord

Last summer 22 artists and designers from Egypt, Netherlands and the Middle East gatherd in Amersrdam to design the first Arabic travel guide to the Netherlands. The project was set up by the Mediamatic foundation.

Maajoun guided the design team through the project, which was responsible for the identity and the travel guide. Throughout the project the design team had several challenges such as grid and typography, as well as a system for reading two different languages in parallel, each of which has its own reading direction.
