100 years since the lost city of Machu Picchu was discoverd
Posted by rod - 27.07.2011A 100 years a go Prof. Hiram Bingham discovered the ancient Peruvian Inca city Machu Picchu whilst on his explorations through South America in 1906 – 1911. Machu Picchu was built by the Incas approximately 2,000 years ago and is to-date one of the most captivating ruins in the world. Prof. Hiram Bingham was supported by the National Geographic Society and Yale University which made it possible to conduct the expedition.
