The grand forbidden city is one of China’s most remarkable architectures
One of China’s most famous architectures is The Forbidden City in Beijing. The Forbidden city was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty and was built in 1406 – 1420. The complex consists of 980 buildings and covers 720,000 m2 (7,800,000 sq ft).
To gain a better understanding of this complex heritage site the Grand Forbidden City project was set into life. The project has received several awards such as the Grand award and the Special Award for culture at the 2009 Design for Asia awards.
