The Boer & Brit wine labels and visual identity was designed by the South African designed and illustrated by South African design agency Fanakalo.

“The Boer & Brit Range
The top-tier Boer & Brit wines are meant to inspire conversation, illicit debate and be enjoyed to the utmost with generous fare and equally ample helpings of friends. These wines are limited volume productions and structured for either early-consumption or careful cellaring.”

I don’t know if you know but I didn’t until a few minutes ago was that “Boer” is the Dutch and Afrikaans word for farmer, which came to denote the desendants of the Dutch-speaking settlers of the eastern Cape frontier in South Africa during the 18th century.

Have you tasted one of these wines?

Finished here? Then have a look at these.

Fanakalo is not a person’s name, it’s the studio’s name.

“Boer” pretty much denoted any Dutch descendants (Dutch-speaking, later Afrikaans-speaking) in South Africa, on any frontier.
