South Pacific Export Lager launched in 1985 and has won several gold medals in its time. In 2008 Design Bridge Asia commissioned Uk-based illustrator, Chris Mitchell to redo the “bird of Paradise” logo, to help reinforce the brands premium statues. The Bird of Paradise is the pride of Papua New Guinea and is featured on its national flag, national emblem and Air Niugini. One thing which i have learned from the great boxvox blog was that while beer labels have featured “shields” for some time, it was new to them and to me that in Papua New Guinea, shields sometimes feature beer labels. Check out the article here.

Have you tasted the beer? Or have you traveled to Papua new Guinea? Let us know
