On May 25, 2010 Argentina celebrated their 200 years of Bicentennial. 200 years ago Viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisneros’ was ousted from office and replaced with the Primera Junta, the first national government.

Bicentennial celebrations began on Friday, May 21, in Buenos Aires, with millions of people in attendance, making it the biggest outdoor festivities Argentina has seen since it celebrated its return to democratic rule after seven years of military dictatorship in 1983

The visual identity was created by imagenHB who took an interesting approach to tackle this complex brief. In recent years Latin American governments have seen the importance of strengthening their political messages of unity, optimism and new ideals.

ImagenHB created a universal logo that represents the national celebration. The main logo represents the values and colours of the whole country. The Sun is the centrepiece illuminating every corner, every city and the people of Argentina. The provincial logos have incorporated their own unique colours making the identity more flexible and personal, without losing its distinctive form. via grafitat and lh5.ggpht.com
