Koshary traditional Egyptian meal

Posted by rod - 07.07.2010

Ayman Ramadan designed the visual appearance including posters, stickers, invitations, t-shirts and koshary cups for his exhibition at the Townhouse Gallery in Cairo, Egypt and the New Museum in New York. For the identity Ayman used the prototype typeface of Talibâ„¢ OldSyle. At the exhibition international politicians ate Koshary – a very rich and heavy traditional Egyptian meal. Eps51

Orange is a tough colour to work with in an identity, and I’m not sure it’s wonderful here, but I love the concept and design, and the aged letterpress/screenprint treatment. It really evokes the aesthetic of the region.
