The inspiration for the identity of Air Jamaica comes from Jamaica’s national animal the Doctor bird or also called the Swallow tail humming bird. The doctor bird or is one of the most outstanding of the 320 species of hummingbirds. It lives only in Jamaica and has been immortalized in Jamaican folklore and song. images via caribbeangiftandcraft, cs.colostate, jetwaymodels, cheapoair, sbarnhill.mvps and museumofflight
